What is PEP?
PEP (Parents Encouraging Parents) is a new group with a very definite
agenda-- to provide an arena in which families can learn and share with
the help of speakers and events that target the joys and challenges of
family life. We are excited about all the possibilities that PEP
can bring to the St. Patrick community through this adult education organization.
PEP's primary goal throughout the year will be to offer support, education,
and inspiration to today's Christian families. We hope to laugh,
learn, and become better parents and individuals along the way. We
will have speakers, community service projects, and get-togethers that
promote family life at its best.
As this is a new venture at St. Pat's (there are some other
parishes which already have a PEP group in place), we are starting from
the ground up. That means we need to establish ourselves and position
PEP in a manner that will be most appealing to the St. Patrick community. This
cannot be done without the assistance of several creative, energetic,
and innovative people. WE NEED YOU! Some of the specific areas
for which we will need help are:
- Marketing/Communication
- Speaker/Event selection
- Finance
- Correspondence/Scheduling
Please note that this is a school and parish-wide organization. If
you know of any parish members who might be interested in being part of
this group, please pass along this information and have them call us at
(847) 395-4565 (Elvia Strutzel).
