What is Life Teen?
A ministry designed to help the teens in our community develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Focus is placed on the Catholic Faith, and the Teens are encouraged to take part fully in the Eucharist.

How is this done?
Life Teen reaches out to teens through three primary avenues.

  1. Life Teen Mass: This mass, typically held on Sunday evening, incorporates the music and terminology of today's teens into the liturgy. The goal is to foster an environment where our teens feel like they are an important part of our community, and to encourage them to include Jesus in their everyday lives.
  2. Life Teen Night: Held after the Life Teen Mass, this informal gathering allows the teens to socialize with their peers in a healthy, well grounded environment. This provided a great opportunity for teens to more deeply explore the Catholic Faith, and the beliefs that the teens are currently developing.
  3. Retreats: Energize our teens by providing time to reflect upon the wonders of God, and how they can further His work on earth.

Why here at St. Patrick School?
St. Patrick is a vibrant parish, with a healthy and active faith community. We also have a strong core teen group focused on providing healthy social interaction. However, teens make up a large percentage of our population, and a substantial amount of these teens are not currently active in the parish.

Today's society often associates happiness and popularity with destructive things such as drugs, violence, promiscuity and alcohol. As our teens develop into adults, they will be faced with many important decisions that will define the men and women that they will become. It's critical that we wrap them in the full armor of God, so they are prepared to respond wisely. Through their early childhood years, they simply accept the faith of their parents. As they mature, it is natural for them to begin to question Christianity and the Catholic Faith. Life Teen speaks to the teens on their own terms, without watering down the message of our faith.

Where do we go from here?
