Kindergarten Newsletter June 2, 2008

This Week

We had a short week this week due to no school on Monday and our field trip on Friday but we still stuck in plenty of learning!  We discussed God’s gifts and how God wants us to help one another.  In math we discussed dollar bills and ten dollar bills.  We also discussed and reviewed 2-D and 3-D shapes.  We continued to learn about the ocean including our students reading their reports aloud to the class.  They did a great job. 

Olympic Day

Tuesday, June 3rd is Olympic Day.  Your child does not have to wear their uniform.  Just something comfortable for them to run in.  Please dress for the weather but no shorts or sandals. 

God Bless America Day

On Friday, June 6th the kindergarten through third graders will be celebrating God Bless America Day.  The kindergartners will be celebrating with their Teddy Bears.  Please send in a Teddy Bear.  We will be learning the history of the Teddy Bear, writing and illustrating a story about their bear, doing math and sorting activities with their bear, do relay races and sing songs outside with their bear!  We will finish up with a McDonald’s lunch. 

McDonald’s Lunch

We will be having a McDonald’s lunch on Friday, June 6th.  We still have some students who have not returned sheets.  If your child will not be participating could you please let us know?  Also, please remember to send cash only. 

Field Trip

We had a lot of fun on our field trip.  Thank you to all the chaperones that made this a fun outing!  There was a great amount of chaperones, both of moms and dads!  Thank you to:

First Grade Visit

On May 28th our Kindergartners were able to visit the First Grade classrooms.  The first graders showed them around and they received a first hand look at what first grade will be like when they return in the fall.

Girl’s Shorts

Remember, with the warm weather girls should now be wearing shorts under their jumpers every day.  It is not necessary to wear uniform shorts.
