Reading
In the story The Last Dragon, Peter is spending the summer with his Great Aunt in Chinatown. In a shop window there, he finds an old, tattered dragon costume that is falling apart. He is fascinated by it and convinces Great Aunt to let him get the costume. Peter is excited about the dragon, but he cannot fix it by himself. He travels all over Chinatown, asking for help in restoring the costume. In the process, he finds many new friends. On Peter's last night in Chinatown, Great Aunt hosts a farewell celebration with all of Peter's new friends at the Golden Palace Restaurant. The priest is there to paint and bless the dragon's eyes, and the magnificent dragon joins the party as they all parade through the teeming streets of Chinatown.
In class, we had our own celebration. We worked in teams and created our own dragons. We are really proud of them and want to share them with you.
